Old insurance flow

Docplanner is a healthcare ecosystem connecting patients with doctors across 13 markets, working toward 1 billion patient visits a year. Doctors use it to manage their practice, online presence and bookings. Insurance configuration lived in two places, address settings and per-agenda working hours. Doctors who only completed step one ended up with insurance showing on their profile but no actual bookable slots. In Brazil, 31% of patient searches filter by insurance, and 25% of clinics listing insurance couldn't take bookings online.

Two options were on the table: a service-based model (add insurance per service) or a centralised one (accept it once, automate the rest). I designed both. The service-based smoke test underperformed and interviews surfaced a different real need, overbooking limits, not granularity. I pushed for centralisation and shipped automation underneath to absorb the complexity.
